In order to provide a double window, in particular for vehicles, with a high degree of stability and bending strength, along with good sound insulation and heat insulation, it is proposed to connect the outer pane (9) to the outer wall, and the inner pane (12) to the inner wall, of the vehicle, the connection taking place to the inner side of the pane in each case, and to arrange the load-bearing window posts (13) between the two panes. Consequently, an optimum spacing between the panes can be achieved. Preferably, the outer pane (9) of the double window consists of toughened safety glass and the inner pane (12) consists of plastic. <IMAGE>
