PURPOSE:To obtain the stable long-sized IR optical fiber which is free from impact and flaws by pressurizing a crystal, extruding the crystal from a die to form a wire-shaped fiber and taking up the yarn holding the front end of the fiber with specified force. CONSTITUTION:The halide crystal 14 (crystal) molded to a circular columnar shape is inserted into a container and while the crystal is heated by a heater 15, a punch 11 is pressurized in an arrow direction and the wire-shaped IR fiber 16 is extruded from the die 13. A torque motor 23 is operated to exert the specified tension to the yarn 27 and to take up the yarn immediately when the end of the fiber 16 is grasped by a grasping part 26. A rotary disk 21 is rotated by a bearing at the time when the yarn 27 and the IR fiber optical 16 travels around the rotary disk 21 in such a manner; therefore, the IR optical fiber 16 progresses simultaneously in the rotating direction in the state of maintaining contact with the disk face of the rotary disk 21. The generation of flaws, etc., by rubbing is thereby generated. |
