The invention relates to an amplifier with a transistor stage with current feedback, the gain of which is adjustable and the current feedback resistor of which consists of an ohmic resistor connected in parallel with a controllable resistor, the resistance value of which can be varied by applying voltages. To provide for a gain setting in steps and, at the same time, regulation, the adjustable resistor can be set step by step to various resistance values by applying switchable direct voltages and a rectified regulating voltage derived from the output signal of the amplifier can be optionally superimposed on the applied preset voltage.
