<p>PURPOSE:To improve the operability by dividing the coordinate input surface of a coordinate input device into two and assigning one of them to a selection key for a function which is switched and used frequently like a scrolling function. CONSTITUTION:When a pointing mode is changed into a scrolling mode, a scrolling function start input surface 1 arranged at the periphery of the coordinate input device 101 is selected. Namely, when coordinate values are inputted on the input surface 1, a scrolling function start mark 15 is displayed at a corresponding position on the display surface of a display 102 and the scrolling mode is entered from the pointing mode at the same time. In the scrolling mode, the end point of a movement vector is only inputted on the coordinate input surface 2 to complete the input of the movement vector. Thus, when the movement vector is inputted, the movement vector is added to a current segmentation range and a new segmentation range is calculated, so that the display is changed into the new segmentation range. Thus, scrolling is carried out and the display returns to the pointing mode.</p> |
