PURPOSE:To make it possible under severe conditions to conduct exact temperature measurement of a cast metal piece by comparing with a thermo-electromotive force measured beforehand the thermo-electromotive force generated by contacting two different metal rods with the cast metal piece. CONSTITUTION:A chromel rod A and an alumel rod B are pressed on to a cast metal piece for a certain time by means of an air cylinder 5. The force of the pressing is determined by adjusting a spring 3. The thermo-electromotive force between both metal rods A and B is compared with a thermo-electromotive force measured beforehand to measure temperature of the cast metal piece. Since the contact time between the cast metal piece and the rods A and B is short and they permit sturdy construction, it is possible to measure temperature of cast metal pieces under severe conditions. |
