PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition useful for relieving from a physiological and psychological state caused by excessive excitation of consciousness level, e.g., irritation, anxiety or tension and normalizing the psychologic action, by using a specific valerian oil fraction obtained by vacuum distillation as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains, as an active component, a valerian oil fraction prepared by removing the fraction distilled out at <=80 deg.C under 0.08mmHg pressure by vacuum distillation. The fraction is free from malodor, has weak woody spicy aroma and is applicable without giving influence to the balance of the odor of the whole compound perfume. Preferably, the composition is added to a flavoring product in an amount of 0.1-5% and the active amount of the fraction is inhaled continuously or for a prescribed period by the aid of the fragrance emitted from said product. |
