<p>PURPOSE:To improve voltage-current characteristics and enable an element with a large non-linearity index alpha by containing a specific amount of bismuth with zinc oxygen being a main constituent and by performing sintering after embedding an element body into a base powder containing an element which prevents evaporation of element body constituent. CONSTITUTION:A base powder 3 contains zinc oxides as the main constituent and contains Bi 0.1-0.4 times larger in weight ratio within the base powder as compared with the weight ratio of Bi within an element body in oxide conver sion and also includes a constituent which prevents evaporation of element body constituent. The constituent which prevents evaporation of the element body 1 indicates the constituent which prevents evaporation of constituents with a melting point of 900 deg.C or less and the composition changes in response to that of the element body 1 to be used. Then, this element body 1 is embedded into the base powder 3 and sintering is made so that the element body 1 may be in contact with the base powder 3. Thus, the element body constituent does not evaporate and a lighting arrester element with improved voltage-current characteristics can be obtained.</p> |
