<p>PURPOSE:To regenerate and to recover a catalyst, by bringing the catalyst, useful for a reaction to obtain a dicarboxylic acid ester from an alcohol, an unsaturated carboxylic acid and CO, consisting of an organic phosphorus compound containing a trivalent phosphorus atom and a Cocontaining substance, into contact with CO and H2. CONSTITUTION:An alcohol is reacted with an unsaturated carboxylic acid and CO in the presence of a catalyst consisting of an organic phosphorus compound (e.g., triphenylphosphine) containing a trivalent phosphorus atom and a Co- containing substance (e.g., dicobalt octanecarbonyl) to give a dicarboxylic acid ester. The above-mentioned ester, the unreacted alcohol and the unsaturated carboxylic acid are totally or partially removed to give residue, which is treated with CO and H2 to recover the catalyst. The volume ratio of CO and H2 is 95/5-5/95 and the contact treatment is carried out at 90-190 deg.C under 30-150kg/cm<2>G for 15minutes -5hours. A solvent (preferably alcohol) may be used in the contact treatment.</p> |
