<p>Method of determining and evaluating the rapid power recovery capacity of a pressurised water nuclear reactor, consisting in calculating a recovery power by the application of the general formula:
Prip = Prel + DELTA P,
in which Prip is the maximum recovery power available by actuation of the control rods, Prel is the relative power supplied by the core, determined by the in-line measurement of the neutron flux emitted by the core and DELTA P is the additional power resulting from the potential reactivity of the assembly of the reactor control rods when this assembly moves from the observed insertion to minimal insertion, DELTA P being calculated from the measured position of the power control clusters, involving the measured axial power distribution (C1 to C6) and the core exhaustion defined previously.
