PURPOSE:To attain the detection of a moving vector with less misdetection and high accuracy by providing a split block unit moving vector detection circuit, a moving contour detection circuit and a selection circuit. CONSTITUTION:A block unit moving vector detection circuit 3, a split block unit moving vector detection circuit 4, a moving contour detection circuit 5 and a selector 6 are provided to the unit. Then the contour of a moving object is detected and the moving vector is detected for each block split further smaller in the block including the contour. Thus, number of picture elements causing to detect erroneous moving vector due to mixture of a different moving part in one and same block is reduced. |
