PURPOSE:To obtain a hair tonic remarkably effective to the dandruff and itchiness, etc., of scalp and hair and useful for the prevention and remedy of alopecia, by using a fermentation product of Neurospora sitophila as an active component. CONSTITUTION:A fermentation product is produced by culturing Neurospora sitophila in a medium containing peanut and/or soybean. The fermentation product is used as it is or in the form of a squeezed juice or extracted liquid to obtain a hair tonic. The fermentation liquid or its extracted liquid can be used singly as it is or as a compounding raw material for hair tonic to form a lotion, hair oil, hair liquid, hair cream, shampoo, rinse, etc. The fermentation product contains various amino acids, peptides, sugars, organic acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, etc., and is effective in imparting properties desirable as a hair tonic. Especially, Neurospora sitophila produces a large amount of carotenoid pigment and is extremely effective for the growth of hair. |
