[Also in Division C5] Nickel complexes such as bisacrylonitrile nickel, bisfumeronitrile nickel, biscinnamonitrile nickel and bisacrolein nickel are prepared by refluxing Ni(CO) 4 with a compound containing activated double bonds and the product isolated by filtration. They are used as catalysts in the preparation of decatrienes from butadiene-1,3 or isoprene with ethylene (see Division C5). Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 977,108. |
