Linear drive with a piston-rodless piston (13) running linearly in a cylinder bore (12) of a cylinder housing (11), with cylinder heads (17, 18) terminating the cylinder housing (11) at the end faces, with a carriage (21) running on the cylinder housing (11), there acting between carriage (21) and cylinder housing (11), a longitudinal measuring attachment (22, 53) which is connected to an electronic control device (65), and with valves (58, 59; 70, 71) which are arranged in the region of the cylinder heads (17, 18) and with which a pressure medium can be fed to the cylinder bore (12) for the displacement of the piston (13), the cylinder heads (17, 18) being provided with fitting spaces (30, 30a) which are connected via a channel (31, 31a) to the cylinder bore (12), characterized in that the valves (58, 59; 70, 71), in the form of a valve cartridge (35), can be inserted completely into the fitting spaces (30, 30a) and in that the valves are both 3/2 pressure servo valves (70, 71) or a pressure servo valve (59) and a directional servo valve (58), with which the channels (31, 31a) can be switched according to choice to a pressure source (60) or an outlet (61).
