1,273,048. Speed governors. USTAV PROVYZKUM MOTOROVYCH VOZIDEL. Sept. 19, 1969 [Sept. 26 1968], No.46317/69. Heading G3B. [Also in Division F1] In a rotary distributer type fuel injection pump the plunger stroke is limited by the prongs 14 of a bifurcated fork 12 which is axially movable under the influence of a centrifugal governor against the action of springs 1 and 2. The springs act between a nut 4 and the end of a casing 3 slidably mounted on the fork 12, and a spring-loaded tappet 11 is connected via member 7 and bearing 7a to the governor carrier. During starting a two armed manually operable lever 8 is positioned so that its first arm depresses the tappet 11 and its second arm acts on a further lever 13, Fig. 2 (not shown), thus moving the carrier, fork and casing to allow maximum plunger stroke but maintaining the spring-bias. During normal running lever 8 is rotatedÀso that its first arm acts on the lever 13 to maintain the position of the casing 3, and the weights 6 act on the fork 12 against the action of the springs 1, 2 to vary the plunger stroke in response to speed. To stop supply the lever 8 is moved to a neutral position in which it acts on neither tappet 11 nor lever 13; this allows a spring 10 to force lever 13 and thus the fork 12 to the extreme right. |
