PURPOSE:To reduce the replacing frequency of a transfer master tape in a simple structure by setting the moving speed of the tape to that for moving the length of less than 1/2 of the length of a dot per one dot recording time. CONSTITUTION:The relative moving speed of a transfer master tape 13 and thermal head 12 is set to a speed of 1/2 of the length of one dot to less than 1 of the length of the dot per one dot recording time. The length of one dot is of the length of the dot in the moving direction of the master tape. For example, when the relative distance between a recording sheet 11 and the head 12 is DELTAl, the tape 13 is heated. However, in this case, the head 12 and the master tape are moved at 1/3 of the length of the dot. Then, the drop-out 52c of the tape 13 is heated, and a dot 53c is recorded on the sheet 11. In comparison with a conventional one, the moving distance of the tape 13 becomes 1/3. This is because the tape 13 can be transferred three times, and if it can be transferred twice, the moving distance of the tape 13 may be set to 1/2. |
