PURPOSE:To firmly bind a ceramic part to a metallic part, by providing cylindrical or columnar protruding parts in a ceramic part and shrink fitting the above- mentioned protruding parts into the metallic part through a low-melting metallic thin film. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic part is bound to a metallic part in an Na-sulfur cell. In the process, an anodic vessel 2 and a cathodic vessel 4 which are metallic parts are linked to an insulating ring 3 which is a ceramic part as follows. That is respective engaging holes (2b) and (4b) are formed in thick-walled parts (2a) and (4a) respectively provided in the top part of the vessel 2 and bottom of the cathodic vessel 4. Protruding parts (3a) and (3b) are integrally formed on the bottom and top end faces of the ring 3. The outer peripheries of the afore-mentioned protruding parts (3a) and (3b) are wrapped in low-melting metal thin films 8, such as Al (alloy), by vacuum deposition, etc. The vessels 2 and 4 and the ring 3 are heated at 540-650 deg.C in a heating furnace to engage the recessed parts (3a) and (3b) of the ring 3 with the holes (2b) and (4b). The metallic thin films 8 are then melted to bind and fix the outer peripheral surfaces of the protruding parts (3a) and (3b) to thick-walled parts (2a) and (3b) by shrink fitting. |
