PURPOSE:To make control accurate and to improve durability, by arranging a heater on a solid-state electrolyte layer on measuring electrodes, and limiting the intervals between the outer surface parts of the measuring electrodes and the inner surface part of the heater within a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A heater 8 is arranged on a solid-state electrolyte layer on the surfaces of measuring electrodes 6 and 7. The heater is arranged in geometrically parallel with the outer surfaces of the measuring electrodes 6 and 7 so as to surround the measuring electrodes 6 and 7. Intervals L1 and L2 between the outer surface parts of the measuring electrodes 6 and 7 and the inner surface part of the heater 8 are set within the range of 0.2-1.5mm except for a lead-out part. In this constitution, the measuring electrodes 6 and 7 are heated quickly. The rise of the characteristics of an oxygen sensor is quick. Accurate control can be performed. There is no deterioration of the measuring electrodes 6 and 7, and durability is improved. |
