PURPOSE:To provide an ignition device which performs ignition and flame detection through a single element and has combustion confirming function, by providing a temperature detecting means to detect the temperature of an ignition heater through the detection of the potential equilibrium point of a resistance bridge, and a fuel valve opening and closing means to open and close a fuel valve in fuel feed passage based upon a signal outputted from the above detecting means. CONSTITUTION:The title ignition device comprises a temperature detecting means 3 to detect the temperature of an ignition heater 1 by the detection of the potential equilibrium point of a resistance bridge 2 for detecting electric resistance of an ignition heater 1, and a fuel valve opening and closing means 4 to open and close a fuel valve 43 located in a fuel feed passage based upon the signal outputted from the former means. This constitution enables the energized ignition heater 1 to heat and ignite fuel, and enables the detection of the flame by the detection of the temperature of the ignition heater 1 by means of the resistance bridge 2 and the temperature detecting means 3 through utilization of temperature change characteristics of electric resistance of the ignition heater 1 so that the ignition heater 1, inversely, is heated by flame during combustion. The fuel opening and closing means 4 is connected to the ignition heater 1 through the temperature detecting means 3 and the resistance bridge 2 and opening and closing thereof is controlled by means of the temperature of the ignition heater 1, resulting in effecting the closure of a fuel valve 43 at the time of non-ignition and going out of the flame. |
