PURPOSE:To obtain a radiation image sensing element easy to mount without impairing the merit points in the division of an electrode, by forming a part of an electronic circuit system directly on a support substrate with a thin film circuit. CONSTITUTION:A radiation image storage section 8 comprises a photoconducting material and an exciting section 9 is orthogonal to a linear array of a signal reading section 10. Under a control section 18, a stimulating channel assigning section 11 and a reading channel assigning section 12 are controlled and an image is displayed on a display section 16 through an address signal and via an A/D converter 14 and a signal processing section 15 to store information into a filing section 17. Here, a transparent electrode train, a photoconductor layer, transparent electrode train and LED array are laminated on a transparent substrate 13 to form an image storage section 8 and a reading channel section 12 by a thin film technique. With such an arrangement, a signal current from the photoconductor layer is controlled with a signal control circuit near a photoconductor layer on the substrate 13 thereby facilitating the mounting with a reduction in the number of signal lead out wires.
