<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title ink which has good colorant dispersive power, excellent applicability, good adhesion and reproducibility of dots and can be given a good gradient from a low-density region to a high-density region so as to realize full color recording, by using a specified linear diol. CONSTITUTION:The title ink is produced by using a diol which is a 1-10C higher linear hydrocarbon having hydroxyl groups on both ends. By adding the above diol to an ink composition, it is possible to obtain an ink which can show good applicability because of a decreased melt viscosity and a good gradient, a weak polarity because of the hydroxyl groups present on both ends, increased dispersive power against a colorant such as a pigment, dye or carbon black, improved transparency, density, a cohesive force of ink kept on a level on which the cut of ink and the reproducibility of dots are well balanced, because of the generated secondary bonding forces such as hydrogen bonds among hydroxyl groups and has an ink-to-ink bonding force.</p> |
