PURPOSE:To allow dot pitch to change optionally in the vertical direction or in both the vertical and horizontal directions preventing a printing head from being oversized, by providing two or more longitudinal slits on a first guide plate, and other slits of the same number at a tilt to the horizontal line on a second guide plate, and having a small pitch at one end of the horizontal slits than that at the other end. CONSTITUTION:On a first longitudinal guide plate 3, longitudinal slits 4a and 4b are vertically arranged parallel to each other at a distance B, and two groups of print wires, each consisting of twelve wires 2a-2l and 2m-2x, are arranged vertically (in the lengthwise direction) or at a tilt respectively in the longitudinal slits 4a and 4b that have enough length to allow the distance between wires to change. On a second horizontal slit guide plate 5, two rows of slits are arranged in the horizontal direction at a distance, and each row consists of twelve horizontal slits, 6a-6l for the first row and 6m-6x for the second row. The horizontal slits are respectively tilted at angles theta1-theta2 to the horizontal line O-O', and arranged at a pitch C at one end and at a pitch D, larger than C, at the other end.
