PURPOSE:To facilitate the memory management by storing a pointer for showing whether a pack exists or not and length of data at every one record of price look-up table data, in a price look-up table. CONSTITUTION:In case of packing price look-up table data, a table storing '1' as a pointer in a packed position is formed in accordance with length of data to be packed and alphabet and KANA (Japanese syllable) codes except a packed numeral part and an unpacked numeral. That is, data (a) of a price look-up table which is not packed yet is divided into packed data (b), a table (c) for showing a packed state, and data for showing the length of pack data (d) and stored on a memory. Therefore, the data of the price look-up table in which a character code except a numeral is mixed can also be packed, and by referring to the length of the packed data and the table in which the pointer is stored, the data can be unpacked. |
