PURPOSE:To relax a sticking phenomenon which occurs on a head and a disk face by forming a prescribed ruggedness on the face opposite to the magnetic recording medium of a floating magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A narrow bearing face 4 is provided like a projecting stripe in parallel with main bearing faces 2 and 3 at the center of a slider 1, and a core 6 is joined to the rear end part of the bearing face 4 through a magnetic gap 5. The surfaces of the bearing faces 2-4 are worked so that they may have a specific roughness. On the bearing faces, a mountain 28 and a valley 29 appear alternately and between the mountain 28 and the valley 29 is a part 30 where height changes suddenly. The part of the cliff 30 exists along a grain boundary 42 of crystals 31-41, the mean value of differences (d) of the mountains 28 and the valleys 29 is 50-20Angstrom and pitch (e) of the repetition of the mountains and valleys is 5-20mum. Thus, adhesion generated between the disk and the magnetic head can be decreased. |
