Novel compounds of the formula wherein each of X and X1 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1- 4 perfluoroalkyl or C1- 4 alkyl-sulphonyl radical are prepared by reacting the corresponding 5-alkylidene-10,11-dihydro-5H -dibenzo[a, d]-cycloheptene with a peracid.
