PURPOSE:To improve the discharge characteristic under the wide-range environment by coating polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) on a positive electrode catalyst layer, drying it, allowing the bridging agent of PVA to exist, then pressing a separator. CONSTITUTION:Polyvinyl alcohol 6 is coated on the surface of the positive electrode catalyst layer 5 of a gas diffusion electrode integrated with the positive electrode catalyst layer 5 and a separator 8 via polyvinyl alcohol, it is dried, the bridging agent 7 of the polyvinyl alcohol is allowed to exist, the separator 8 is stuck to the surface of the catalyst layer. The constitution of the catalyst layer 5/PVA layer 6/bridged PVA layer 7/separator 8 can be formed, thus the adhesive strength between the catalyst layer 5 and the separator 8 becomes stronger as a whole than the conventional constitution of the catalyst layer/PVA layer/separator or catalyst layer/bridged PVA layer/ separator. The occurrence rate of the increase of the internal resistance before or during a discharge caused by the peeling between the catalyst layer 5 and the separator 8 can be suppressed. |
