A global (enveloping) cam 36 on the input shaft 24 carries a tapered rib 38 defining a cam surface with a disc-shaped end face merging progressively into a helical surface around the input shaft. An indexing disc 42 provided on the output shaft 26 carries supports projecting radially outwards at intervals along the circumference of the indexing disc, the edge of the tapered rib fitting between the adjacent supports. Cam pushers 40 are brought into contact with the tapered rib so as to be entrained intermittently along the cam surface. Gaps s provided between the edge of the tapered rib and the supports opposite it allow an elastic deformation of the cam pusher preventing the risks of permanent deformations. <IMAGE> |
