PURPOSE:To prevent a driving mechanism from being heated by stopping the operation of the driving mechanism of an external magnetic field part at a time other than the switching time of recording and erasure by arranging a magnetic piece attracted magnetically by the magnetic force of the magnetic pole of the external magnetic field part and positions the external magnetic field part at the prescribed rotating and stopping position. CONSTITUTION:A magnet unit 85 as a magnetic field generating means for recording and erasure is arranged oppositely to a magnetic disk 10 handled by a magneto-optical recorder, and the unit 85 is rotated to the prescribed rotating and stopping position perpendicular to the disk 10 at the time of recording or erasing on the disk 10 by a spindle motor 91. At the rotating and stopping position, a part between the magnetic pole piece 92 and the unit 85 is attracted magnetically by the magnetic force of the first magnet 89 or the second magnet 90 of the unit 85, and the recording or the erasing operation of information on the disk 10 is enabled in a state where the unit 85 is positioned at the prescribed rotating and stopping position, and the driving mechanism can be prevented from being heated. |
