The nappy consists of an absorbent insert, a liquid-permeable inside covering which is gentle on the skin and an outer covering which is impermeable to liquids. The nappy is provided with guides which are accessible from the outside and are intended for the insertion of indicators serving to indicate the soaking of the absorbent insert. The indicators are arranged in the guides so that they can be removed and they can thus also be inserted in the nappy even after completion of the production operation. The nappy can therefore be supplied both with and without indicators.
