<p>A method for the continuous drying of a material. The temperature of the material is adjusted to below the boiling point of the material at atmospheric pressure. The material is fed into a vacuum chamber and led through the vacuum chamber without heat supply. Then the dried material is removed through an air lock. The method can be carried out with an assembly comprising a means for adjusting the temperature of the material, a feeding means (8, 10) for feeding the material into a vacuum chamber (12), a vacuum chamber, a means of transport (112) for carrying the material through the vacuum chamber and an air lock (24). The method and assembly are useful for drying materials which are sensitive and/or difficult to solidify.</p> |
