<p>Channel plates for image intensifier tubes have an end-spoiling that continues into the channels over at least a distance greater than twice the channel diameter. In the channels the thicknesses of the end-spoiling decrease with increasing distances from the channel outputs. Thereby a considerable increase in resolution at the anode of the image intensifier tube is obtained.</p>
