PURPOSE: To modulate damping force by installing a rotary slide valve in the longitudinal intermediate spot of a nearly two-roll coiled passage connecting two working chambers with each other, and changing the length of its passage leading to both the chambers through the rotation. CONSTITUTION: A nearly two-roll coiled passage 14 is installed in an annular wall, while a rotary slide valve 28 is installed in the nearly intermediate part and the passage 14 is divided into a lower length portion 29 and an upper length portion 30. With the rotary slide valve 28 set up, both length portions 29 and 30 are connected to each other, whereby damping fluid in these portions is vibrated as an integral liquid column, and thus specific natural frequency of fluid arises. In case of another setup of this rotary slide valve 28, the upper length portion 30 is directly connected to an opening 15 of the lower working chamber, therefore the lower length portion 29 is interrupted. Accordingly, a fluid quantity becomes lessened, to arise a high natural frequency. Thus, a vibrating fluid quantity varies according to an operation of the rotary slide valve 28, and the natural frequency is varied between both extreme values, and the damping force is regulated. |
