<p>A dot matrix printing apparatus including a carriage (20) having mounted thereon a coupling device (42) co-operating with an endless toothed belt (36) for moving the carriage (20) in a reciprocating manner. An arcuate member (46) is provided having a surface complementary to the teeth on the belt (36) for engagement therewith. A pair of guide members (44) extend from the carriage (20) and are spaced from the surface of the arcuate member (46) to define a guide path therebetween. Each of the guide members (44) has a respective projection (52) which extends under the guide path and acts as a support and retaining member for the belt (36).</p> |
