Indeno-pyrimidine derivs. of formula (I) are prepared. In (I), Y is H, methyl hydroxy methoxy, Cl, F or NHCOCH3; R1 is H, Cl, f, methoxy or trifluoromethyl; R2 and R3 are each H, Cl, F or trifluoromethyl. (I) are aromatase inhibitors useful for treating or preventing osterogen dependent (esp. breast cancer).
