NEW MATERIAL:Physiologically active substances expressed by the formula [R is -SCH2CH2C(=O)CH3 (KS-506m) or -OCH3 (KS-506h)]. USE:Physiologically active substances having inhibitory action on liberation of histamine produced by microorganisms, antiallergic, anti-inflammatory agents, etc. PREPARATION:A microorganism (deposited as FERM P-1776), belonging to the genus Mortierella and having the ability to produce KS-506m and/or KS-506h is cultured in a culture medium, such as glucose, citric acid, glutamic acid, glycerol or cotton seed oil, to produce and accumulate the KS-506m and/or KS-506h in the resultant culture, mainly in microbial cells to collect and afford the aimed KS-506m and/or KS-506h from the afore-mentioned culture. |
