With the siphon (1) according to the invention, said siphon (1) can be made to respond even with only a small amount of water flowing over the top of the siphon (1). The amount of water flowing over the top passes, for the time being, into a gutter-shaped cutout (29) and is channelled from there to the outer wall (51), where it covers an opening, formed by a clearance (35) of the lower end of the line, and thus closes off the air supply to the siphon (1). <IMAGE>
