The invention relates to an apparatus for separating out particular articles (3) from a series of articles arriving one after the other. It contains a driver device (20) having a plurality of article receptacles (29) for receiving individual articles (3) during their transport along a driving section. The article receptacles (29) pass through a take-over station (13) in which articles (3) are taken over, a delivery station (15) in which articles, which are not to be separated out, are delivered, and a separating-out station (16) in which the articles (3) to be sorted out are released. Every article receptacle (29) is assigned a separate holding device (34) which, in a closing position, hold the articles, and, in a release position, release them. There is, furthermore, a switching device (37) which specifies the respective position of the individual holding devices (34) during transport between the stations (13, 15, 16). <IMAGE>
