PURPOSE:To extend the service life and the charge-discharge cycle life by melting and fixing metallic particles on the surface of an electrode supporting body, applying an electrode constituting material or an active substance on that surface, and making them in a body by pressing. CONSTITUTION:Paste-like metallic particles 3 are melted and fixed on the surface of an electrode supporting body. An electrode constituting material 1 or an active substance is applied to sandwitch the supporting body which is then pressed to be made into an integral body. Because the metallic particles 3 are melt-fixed on the surface of the electrode supporting body, the metallic particles 3 are firmly combined with the electrode constituting material 1 or the active substance on the surface with a strong adhesiveness. As a result, the contact resistance between the two components is small and the separation phenomenon between them is reduced. As a result, the electrode can extend the life of a fuel cell and extend the cycle life of hydrogen storage electrode and a nickel oxide anode. |
