PURPOSE:To improve photoelectric charge reaction efficiency by forming a Schottky junction type photovoltaic element with a semiconductor electrode and a battery active substance electrode. CONSTITUTION:Semiconductor electrodes 3, 4, a 1st battery active substance electrode 5, a solid electrolyte 6, and a 2nd battery active substance 7 are successively laminated and the semiconductor electrodes 3, 4 are electrically connected to the 2nd battery active substance 7. For example, a P-I junction type amorphous silicon is used for the semiconductor electrodes 3, 4, a metallic copper layer is used for the 1st battery active substance electrode 5, and a copper chevrel layer for the 2nd battery active substance electrode 7. When light is shed on the junction between the P-I amorphous silicon 3, 4 and the metallic copper 5, a Schottky type photoelectric voltage is generated, with the metallic copper 5 being at a negative voltage and with the P type amorphous silicon being at a positive voltage. This makes it possible to obtain a secondary battery of a high photovoltaic power generation reaction efficiency. |
