1,259,686. Mechanical switches. MESSERSCHMITT - BOLKOW - BLOHM G.m.b.H. 3 April, 1969 [6 April, 1968; 22 Oct., 1968], No. 17688/69. Heading H1N. An electric switch comprises a plate 1 having a recess 2 in one side and on the other side a microswitch 9 having its operating pin 10 projecting through a bore 11 into recess 2 and operated by the pressing in of a ball 4. As shown, there are four recesses 2 each with a corresponding microswitch 9 and one ball 4 mounted in a holding device 7 and urged inwards by spring 8. Rotating shaft 5 rotates device 7 causing ball 4 to run round a track 3, Fig. 2 (not shown), until it falls into a recess 2 and operates the corresponding microswitch 9. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the recesses and microswitches are in a straight line and a rectilinearly moving operating rod moves the ball in a straight line to operate the microswitches. In a third embodiment, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), the ball is permanently arranged in a recess and depressed or otherwise to operate the microswitch by a rotary face cam 12. Alternatively the face cam may move in a straight line. Also a ball may be entrapped in the face cam to act as a detent and also operate microswitches as in Fig. 1. |
