PURPOSE:To obtain a good cast strip by joining heat affected part brought into contact with molten metal at the center and the cold frame part brought into contact with no molten metal and being more easily expandable than the heat affected part and quickly preventing heat deformation of the belt. CONSTITUTION:The belt 3 is integratedly brazed, welded or stuck to both materials having different kinds and thicknesses of the heat affected part W1, respectively, at the center and the cold frame parts (f) at both end parts, to make a complex belt. To the heat affected part W1 (cast strip width), ordinary steel plate is suitable, because it supports the molten metal and the cast strip shell and the high speed cooling water hits to the back face, and the belt execut ing thermal-spray of ceramic, such as alumina, or the belt forming dimples is further suitable. To the cold frame part (f), Al, drawn copper, 'Teflon(R)', etc., is suitable, because it supports dam blocks 6 and needs sealability for cooling water and smooth and easy expansion. By this method, in order to prevent heat deformation of the belt, by stretching with a belt tension device 10, the prevention of the deformation is rapidly executed with low force and the good cast strip can be obtd. |
