<p>A beam bender for laser beam machining, which is adapted to change the direction of a laser beam. A mirror holder (6) has therein a mirror retainer member (10), which is fitted over an inner race (14). The inner race (14) has a spherical outer surface and is joined to an outer race (16) via balls (15a, 15b). The outer race (16) has a spherical surface, and the inner race (14) can be rotated spherically with respect to the outer race (16). The angle of inclination only of a bender mirror (7) can be regulated without moving the center of the reflecting surface thereof. <H0> ABSTRACT </H0> A beam bender changes the direction of a laser beam in laser-beam machining. The beam bender comprises a mirror holder (6) having therein a mirror holder member (10) fitted in an inner race (14) having an outer spherical surface. The inner race (14) is coupled to an outer race (16) through balls 15a, 15b, the outer race (16) having an inner spherical surface. The inner race (14) is spherically rotatable with respect to the outer race (16). Only the angle of inclination of a bender mirror (7) held by the mirror holder member (10) can be adjusted without moving the center of the reflecting surface of the bender mirror (7).</p> |
