1,194,683. Cigarette-making machines. SERVICE D'EXPLOITATION INDUSTRIELLE DES TABACS ET DES ALLUMETTES. 27 June, 1967 [27 June, 1966], No. 29490/67. Heading A2C. In a continuous-rod cigarette-making machine, the travelling rod 4 is diverted by one of five blades 3 on a rotatable drum 2 on partial rotation of the same and simultaneously broken off by the end of the blade 3 downstream of the direction of travel f 1 of the rod 4. Subsequently, on a further partial rotation of the drum 2, the diverted rod is cut by the other end of the blade 3 co-operating with a stationary plate 35, the rod 4 then returning to its normal un-diverted path passing between two adjacent blades 3 towards the cigarette cut-off. The device may be used for diverting the rod 4 and returning it to its normal path when stopping and starting the machine respectively, or for sampling the rod 4 during normal running. Rotation of the drum 2 is effected by drive through an electromagnetic clutch 7 to a reduction gear 9 that incorporates means to limit rotation of the drum to one of two alternating increments. A suitable electrical control circuit is disclosed.
|
