A blank for producing a parallelepipedal container which is open at its upper end, such as a fruit and vegetable tray, and which is of the type consisting of a cardboard blank which is cut out and grooved and comprises, at the vertical edges of the container, inner vertical reinforcements, characterised in that the said cardboard blank (1) is in the form of a single piece comprising all the parts (2, 3, 4, 5) intended to form the base and the vertical walls as well as the tabs for sealing the container, the said reinforcements (6) being fixed on the said blank (1) when the latter is spread flat in a horizontal plane before being made up into the container to be formed.
