The walking doll consists of a horizontally-located body, leaning on its hands and knees. Inside its trunk an electric battery-fed mechanism is provided which starts working by closing the circuit using a commutator-switch and then the arms and legs begin to move in order to make it walk on all-fours. This advance movement is combined with the alternative rotation of the head sidewards, and characterised by the arrangement at the shaft transmitting movement to the arms of a plate tending to be turned over by a spring and retained by tangential contact on an arched cam. When the arched zone of the cam finished, the plate tilts around the rotation axle of the arms. The arms move themselves forwards, so the doll acquires the headlong-fallen position, at the same time as one of the side faces of the arched cam presses on a contactor that closes the circuit of a sound reproducer that emits the sound of a baby's weeping. The cam cycle going on until the recovery of the plate of the arms and of the latter until their original all-fours walking-on position.
|
