An inorganic compd. BaTiO3 for a possitive temp. coefficient (PTC) thermistor is synthesized by calcining BaCO3, TiO2, Sb2O3, and 0.4- 0.6 parts KCl (on the basis of total weight) at 800≦̸C, which is lower temp. than that of the conventional method, for 6 hrs where molten KCl enhances the diffusion velocity of Ba ions and Ti ions and the mixing ratio of BaCO3 and TiO2 is equimolecular and then Sb2O3 is added for giving semiconductor properties.
