PURPOSE:To promote the automatization of mounting operation of a mold by a method wherein a proper separation distance between a fixed platen and a movable platen, which is necessary for carrying the mold into a mold mounting position by being guided with guiding mechanisms, is calculated and, after that, the mold is carried into the mold mounting positions by being guided with the guiding mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:When a mold carrying truck 42 arrives at the mold carrying-in position with respect to a mold clamping device, the program of a controller 28 is started and the thickness of a mold 38, which is detected with the mold thickness detecting device 52 of the mold carrying truck 42, is read in the controller. By adding a proper gap to the thickness of the mold 38, a proper separation distance between both platens 10 and 12, which is necessary for carrying the mold 38 into a mold mounting position by being guided with guide rollers 40, is calculated. A rear platen 14 is shifted to the position, which makes the proper separation distance between the movable platen 10 and the fixed platen 12 under the condition that a toggle mechanism 18 is in its extended state so as to make the proper distance for carrying the mold 38 in between the movable platen 10 and the fixed platen 12 and, after that,the mold 38 is automatically carried into the mold mounting position by being guided with the guide rollers 40. |
