<p>PURPOSE:To make the title computer system light, thin, short and small, to reduce power consumption and to reduce cost by mounting a memory card to a slot and using the memory card instead of an auxiliary storage device. CONSTITUTION:When a memory card is inserted into an equipment main body and a main body power source is applied, a system is led by an operating system (OS) in the memory card 15, and an application software is read from a floppy disk. Also, when the application software executes KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion processing, a dictionary in the memory card 15 can be referred to. The dictionary has a learning function and necessary information can be reserved in a RAM 154. Accordingly, by replacing the memory card 15, the OS and the dictionary can be switched easily. In such a way, in a lap top computer which has required two sets of floppy disks (FDD), that corresponding to one set can be alternated with the memory card 15, and the system can be further made light, thin, short and small.</p> |
