<p>A metal hydride storage facility includes a cylindrical pressure vessel and a centrally mounted gas conducting tube in the interior of the vessel. Self contained boxes stacked in the interior of the vessel are traversed by the tube, each box having an annular upper and an annular lower part and being filled with hydride forming material. Each box is configured to establish an expansion volume such that upon receiving hydride each of the boxes is capable of expansion without exerting undue pressure upon the wall of said pressure vessel.</p> |
