PURPOSE:To prepare a reinforcing member for a tire, by a method wherein cords are passed through a moving guide plate, which reciprocally moves in the direction right-angled to the flow direction of the cords, through a guide plate, a winding type brake apparatus and a dancer roller to be sent into a rubber coating calendar and put between rubber sheets in a wavy form to be covered therewith. CONSTITUTION:Cords 1 pierce through a large number of the small holes of a guide plate 3 and wound around the winding rolls 5, 6 of a winding type brake apparatus 4 to receive definite tension. Next, the cords are pierced through the small holes of a guide plate 10 and those of a moving guide plate 11 while the slackening thereof is absorbed by the up-and-down movement of a dancer roller 8. The moving guide plate 11 is reciprocally moved in the horizontal direction right-angled to the flow of the cords to supply rubber sheets 20 between both press rolls 13, 14 of the calendar 12 on the downstream side. By this method, the cords 1 are put between the sheets 20 to be bonded to said sheets under uniform pressure. The traverse quantity of the moving guide plate 11 can be simply altered by changing the pivotal position of a connection lever 40 to a crank 38. |
