A number m of ring counters controlling the operation of a computer or telephone system use a majority logic circuit to ensure synchronism. With counters I1-n in synchronism the same information is fed by like stages of the counters to each of majority elements 1-m. Also once in each cycle of each counter outputs are delivered from corresponding stages A 1 -A n to a memory-type majority gate E. Any lack of synchronism is corrected by the gate E forcing the counters to step to the stages B 1 -B n immediately following A 1 -A n .
